We have recently received some amazing photos and videos from a paint pouring artist named SiSi, who held a workshop where she taught people how to create their own paint pouring works of art!
It was a small workshop named Creations by SiSi that consisted of 10 students. SiSi taught them how to use Easy Flow to create unique pieces of art, as well as handy tricks and techniques.
The event was a success and SiSi is now looking to hold more events like this in the future.
Take a look below and see what kind of pieces they created.
What is acrylic paint pouring?
Acrylic paint pouring is a type of art where artists decant various colours of paint into one or more plastic cups and then empty (or pour) the paint onto a canvas. This creates beautiful one of a kind pieces that can then have embellishments added or simply left as is. It’s a very easy and effective form of art that is accessible to anyone as you can’t do it wrong!
Acrylic paint pouring has become very popular this year – you can find it all over Instagram etc. We have found a large influx of customers purchasing Easy Flow specifically to use in their art. While this is not necessarily something that Easy Flow was originally ‘intended’ for, we absolutely love it when customers use our products in ways that we wouldn’t have thought of!
Are you a paint pouring artist that would like to be featured on our blog and social media pages? Or have you used an Owatrol product outside the ‘norm’? We’d love to hear from you!
What is Easy Flow?
Easy Flow is a water-based paint conditioning additive that makes emulsion and acrylic paints work more like oil-based paints.
It helps to improve paint flow and work-ability and allows the paint to adjust to more difficult conditions; such as hot, cold and windy environments. One of the most popular uses for Easy Flow is it’s ability to eliminate brush and roller marks when painting surfaces such as walls. This gives a much more professional looking finish.
In acrylic paint pouring Easy Flow is favoured as it improves the flow of the paint, making it easier to move the paint around the canvas and get the paint into it’s desired areas.
Unlike damaging paint thinners or water, Easy Flow does all this without affecting the inherent qualities of the paint and without affecting its color.
